wow. good question PG. i never though about it but when you asked i was able to have a flashback i think. Yes, everything was covered. i remember because the stage there is very large. the drums, keyboards logo and sign were covered. i remember this because the same year i saw Aerosmith at MSG and as they hit the stage with toys in the attic a giant black curtain dropped to the floor and was dragged to the side. this made me think that all bands did this. i would later learn they didnt. this is a thing that bands still do to this day sometimes. it was recently done by kiss on american idol. the godz had all there amp heads and cabinets painted white !. as i recall both the godz and judas preist had to set up and breakdown there stuff. it wasent all up there. this was preist before all the leather and catwalks. in fact rob halford still had long hair. Angel had a massive riser thing that had the drums and wall of keyboards all ready set up. the keyboards were 3 sided and like double stacked too. there was alot of room up there. much of which was needed to contain G.G's hair ! they did not drop a curtain however. i beleive that the lights went down. then they pull the drapes off and then as the voice spoke " on the 8th day" the stage area filled with smoke and roadies started stacking the boxes. each guy was announced one at a time and walked out of that box, waived and went to get their guitar or whatever. Punky had that heiniken when he came out of the box. that was so cool. it is what i remember about that night the most. at the end of the show i think the entire band disappeared. im not totally clear about this part but i think they were all lifted up into the air at the same time. the angel logo moved foward towards the crowd and over the band. they got lifted up to the logo height. then a curtain blocked them from the crowd. then the logo began to spin around which revealed it was the same upside down. then alot of smoke and then the small curtain dropped and they were gone. i suspect they went back behind the angel logo to a platform.

it was really cool to see. like i said, seeing this show changed me. it was a very important night for me and a wonderfull memory. speaking about it to other that are interested is helping my memory. ill scan and email that pic quickly. i got a feeling you will be blown away. it is as good as anyhting i have seen on here. but enough talk and teasing. let me get in scanned. im out to the shed for a few cold ones. maybe more lurkers will show up and someday we can see more pix and that impossible to find early video. too bad those videos on you tube have no audio. what a shame. ill bet every guy in that band would love for us few old fans to get to see it. heck, maybe they have never seen it them selves. i have alot of angel question for ya;ll. ill be starting some new threads in the near future to pick your brains.

all at the same time they got lifted up at the end of the show, smoke began, and the logo moved. heavy smoke it was. then a curtain covered them i think how ever they may have been lifted with the curtain alrerady up. then i suppose they could escape the same way they came in ?? by exiting before they got lifted. im not sure. i am still in contact with another guy that was there. ill ask him. the logo then spun, and then the curtain dropped and they were gone. im not sure about the boxes. but my guess is that there was only one stack as there would have to have been 5 trap doors at every venue and all sorts of help to stack them and then get them away. i do not remember if the boxes were lighted but i feel like they were dark and then light up with a member in it each time the PA announced their name.

I have found the date of this show listed in the past tour dates. in fact they played 2 nights in a row when i saw them. i remember eric moore from the godz saying that they had been up all night long. This 2 night stand makes me think that Angel pulled out all the stops for this venue as they may have been able to set up everything they had and took the time to get it all just perfect. this is just a though of course.

and also as i sit here and think ill bet that logo on the box pic you posted above is what i remember spinning as the box was raised.
