SHOW PLACE in Dover was a great big room. killer place but yes very far unless yhou lived in north jersey then there was a direct route. best shows i saw there
was joe perry project and Hades 2 times. 81-83 i suppose. Of course april ditched me all the way down there once. and ended up in Toms river near Sea Side. I
had to go get her after already driving up north back to rockland.
you guys have so many great items. i lost all i had a long time ago including my angel, godz, jp stubb nad other MSG stubs like led zep. frampton, floyd, yes, and all the big 70's groups. |

Rik, thanks so much for all this info. It's been quite some time I received new info for our ever growing tourdate archive. I noticed someone has the
complete tourdate guide for the Rock and Roll marathon tour. When I checked a few dates from my list there where some huge differences. I hope to can get into
this some time soon.
What is cleary unknown to us are the early "club" days.... hopefully we'll be able to unveil that part of the Angel story also sometime in the future... Good to have you onboard Rik. |

This is the show that I mentioned in previous posts that occurred on either March 1 or 3, 1978. If it happened on the 3rd the New York date is wrong but more
than likely it was 3/1/78. I actually recorded this concert but it has since been lost to time. Angel did not play 4/24/78 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago as
listed on the first page of this thread.
Here is a ROCKIN link to a page with some never before seen live Angel photos, including the Illusion boxes and a shot of Barry standing in front of the box they disappeared in at the end of the show. http://www.regionrockmemories.com/HCC_Angel_780324.html# Supporting act was The Jam. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush were scheduled to appear, but apparantly cancelled for unknown reasons. We also have this show reported to have taken place on March 1. |

I emailed the guy who posted the very cool 'new' Angel folks and sent him a link to the Touring Date thread. This was his response . . . Maybe this is
helpful or makes sense to those of you working on this project. ~ PG
OK I'm looking at your list, but fail to see why you think this show was not on the 24th. They played Rockford apparently on the 23 which is a Thurs. The Civic Center is right on the way to your next listed date, Erie Pa on the 30th. So Angel played Rockford on a Thurs, HCC on Fri, which is a VERY likely night for an HCC show and then on Sat night prob they played in Chitown. That conforms to the most common pattern when national acts appeared in Hammond. March 1 was a Wed, not a common HCC show night. Many national acts played back to back Chitown and HCC gigs on Fri/Sat/Sun due to them already being in Chicago. Adrian has the tour book from the show in which he recorded the date. So until somebody can produce a stub or an ad with a diff date, I think we better go with Adrian. He was there, he even took pics. He should know. I'm waiting to hear back from him. If he agrees with you I'll let you know and change it. fwiw, I seen what was posted on your site and actually not only was the crowd not clapping they were seated on the floor. That stage is only a couple feet high. HCC could be a tough crowd. They'd boo/chant you right off the stage for no other reason than just being impatient to see the next act. At any rate either the audience is totally stoned or really bored. I'd guess stoned. Thanks for your interest. I do my best to maintain accuracy. Mike |

If you go to the Aragon Ballroom site, they have the archive of every single show and date from 1970. Angel played 2/24/78 at the Aragon and did not return
there till 3/24/79 w/TKO.
www.aragon.com under the about section they have a concert log. |
