Just finished reading this book, it is based around Brian Connolly. Although i enjoyed it, spelling and grammar mistakes really annoyed me. Such as Led Zeppelin spelt Lead. A meeting with Sweet at Tower records and then a photo of the author with Sweet and the caption saying HMV records. One of the other members of the band does not come out smelling of roses. It would have been good to get the surviving members point of view as well. If you are a huge Sweet fan buy it.

I just got back from a sweet road trip, and it occurred to me that my all-time favorite driving song is "L.A. Woman" by The Doors. There's something about it that just makes me want to cruise on the open road, windows down, as fast as possible...

What are your favorite Doors songs to drive to? Or songs in general?

I'd love to make a new driving mix!

Or do keyboards not belong in rock? Richie didn't think so, which is why Larry Gonsky was sent packing from Fallen Angels. I THINK there is an early version of Tear it Down on the Fallen Angels CD with keyboards. Can anybody check? Most of my CDs are in storage. So, do keyboards belong in rock and who did/does it best? There is a great Sweet documentary filmed by the BBC in early 70s. It is on you tube, type in ""Sweet All that glitters. "". It is in 2 parts and ends with a barnstorming live version of Hellraiser at the Rainbow 1973.

They were good. Enjoyed the set list, the stage was cool and the place was packed. Our boy Paul Stanley sure is slowing down though. He did not sing and of the chorus' to any of the songs, and was pretty tame for his usual performance. He was still cool as hell though.........

I have just played this album, having not heard it for a number of years and by god is the song Matriarch something else. Outstanding i say.
I have recently found a link to Montrose at the Record Plant, taken from the soundboard, going to play that shortly.

Teen Idols Show

I went with one of my Sisters to see the Teen Idols tour here in Milwaukee last night featurning Peter Noone, Micky Dolenz, and Mark Lindsay. I liked the way they did the show with all 3 guys and the band on stage together for 90 minutes. Starting with Mark then Micky then Peter, they sang their own songs with the other 2 guys singing background vocals. They were all in good voice, and the band rocked - It was a fun show!

I have just finished reading this book and like most people on this board am a huge Skynyrd fan. Skynyrd doing freebird at Knebworth Festival still makes the hairs on my neck stand up (you tube it if you haven't seen it). The book is written up to the plane crash and is mainly centred around Ronnie, no surprise as Gene Odom was Ronnie best friend. I sort of enjoyed the book, i did not think it was well written and it jumps about a bit. I had read that Ronnie was a bully but this book...

I didn't, because I was at the show! (which was great!)

I too saw Sweet in Melbourne tonight. They put on a great show and they did a meet and greet after the show. No sampling and good vocal harmonies from all the band. Steve Priest / Sweet in Milwaukee

I went to see Steve Priest / Sweet last night here in Milwaukee and it was great! As an added bonus, the entire band including Steve came out to the merchandise table before the show to say hello and to sign autographs. I bought one of the band pictures for them to sign, and I had Steve sign the back of my ticket. Steve was very nice, and he was in a great mood. Is everyone as excited as I am for the release of The Doors' new box set today? I heard it's a 6-disc release (yes, SIX!!)--- and includes 4 performances (in their entirety!) from the band's shows at the Felt Forum in New York City in 1970. SOO pumped to get this -- is work over yet so I can head to Amoeba to get mine? AAHH!!!
