Sweet, along with Marc Bolan shaped my musical tastes from the moment i saw them on TOTP back in 1972. I remember running home from cubs to catch them on a Thursday night.Now 37 years later, I am really looking forward to this up and coming gig as i know it will be the last time i will ever get the chance to see the Sweet again. I never got the chance to see the original line up, I saw AC/DC at Hammersmith Odeon instead back in 78, but caught Sweet with Andy and Mick back in 85. This line up...

Off Broadway

Off Broadway at the Palladium in NYC. They opened for Blackfoot and UFO and were quickly booed off the stage. I don't think they made it through 5 songs. They were a fine power pop band and had a little hit with Stay in Time. You can't open for two hard rock act with your lead singer dressed the way he was. Twenty Five years later I became good friend with Ken Harck through my work in the circus. Ken says he was only booed off the stage twice in his career, the Palladium was one...

I just came home from seeing Alice Cooper. This was one amazing show.
Alice pulled out all the stops & all the schtick. Beheading, hanging, multiple impalements, & on top of that, he squeezed in 27 songs!

Opening the show was Ace Frehley. While he didn't wear his KISS makeup, the rest of his band did.
After akk the years since he left Kiss, he ought to take a few more off, re-learn to play & maybe then go out & tour.
This was a bar band...

This is a shot of two of the guys from Waysted. They opened for Ozzy and Motley Crue at the Meadowland 1984ish. Also in the photo is the floating head of Eddie Trunk. Eddie and I worked at a record store in NJ and were asked by the record company to get a few friend to be monks and walk across the stage during one of his song.

They have little pictures on each piece of candy of the Kiss guys . . you have to give it to them, kings of marketing. I was going to buy a packet for a board prize but they were like $6. Forget it!

This band was mentioned in the Angel section but I found this song on YouTube and I LIKE it so I am giving them their own space even though they are more . . early 80's?? 707 was Phil Bryant (bass, vocals), Jim McClarty (drums), Duke McFadden (keyboards, vocals), Kevin Russell (guitars, vocal) and this song, I Could Be Good For You, peaked at #52 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Luke (lcozzie), who just did the bang up job with Richie's interview and a stellar Starz set . . said that next year the station might do "iconic rock albums" and that brought up two things.

One is an outfit out of Canada that's sole purpose is to play classic albums, from start to finish, LIVE! They employ 50 musicians and the article I read said it took 18 musicians to play Abbey Road live . . . Here is the link to their website:

Is it true that blackie lawless filled in for johnny thunders when johnny and jerry nolan quit in 1975. I Have heard that he may have filled in for some shows in FL after the original dolls near last show at the hippodrome 1n 1975
